About Digital Creativity Lab

Centre for Digital Creativity is a research center at the School of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University. In the center, we explore how digital technologies support, enable, and transform creative actiivties. We adopt an inclusive perspective on what constitutes creative uses of technology, exploring it in domains such as design, architecture, programming, synthetic biology, and digital arts production. Many of our projects focus on collaborative activities: how do people come together to create new knowledge and products, and how can interactive systems scaffold these processes.

DCL houses five research projects and has ongoing collaborations with a range of affiliated researchers and external partners in academia,  the public sector, and industry, including Designit, LEGO, and Microsoft Research. Many of our prototypes are developed in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Visualisation and Interaction.
